Brand FAQ

Answers to common questions about TryLyst's creator-powered retail activation campaigns, UGC, creator management, content rights, campaign reporting, and more.

TryLyst is a creator-powered retail growth platform that helps brands turn product discovery into real-world retail activity and authentic creator content.

We activate everyday creators to discover, purchase, experience, and share products from retailers and online marketplaces — helping brands generate verified retail purchases, authentic content, shopper awareness, and measurable retail momentum.

TryLyst is fully managed, so our team handles the creator side of the campaign from recruitment through completion.

Tell us your product, retail footprint, campaign goals, and target markets, and we’ll build the activation around them.

For retail campaigns, TryLyst recruits and qualifies creators based on campaign fit, location, retailer access, and any campaign-specific requirements. Selected creators receive the funds needed to purchase the product, visit the retailer, complete the required experience, and create their content.

TryLyst manages creator communication, purchases, deliverables, content review, tracking, and payouts throughout the campaign.

Brands can follow campaign progress and access completed content and reporting through TryLyst.

TryLyst was built around retail activation — not simply content production.

Instead of shipping products to creators and hoping that content translates into retail impact, brands can activate creators where their products are actually sold.

Creators discover and purchase the product through participating retailers, experience it as real shoppers, and turn that experience into authentic social content.

That means a single campaign can generate retail purchases, store-level product discovery, creator content, shopper awareness, and valuable consumer feedback.

And because TryLyst is fully managed, brands don’t have to individually recruit, coordinate, reimburse, or follow up with creators.

TryLyst campaigns can be structured around your specific retail and content goals.

In-Store Retail Activations
Activate creators at retailers such as Costco, Target, Walmart, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Hy-Vee, and other participating stores. Creators purchase the product, experience it, and create content around the retail discovery and how the product fits into their lifestyle — for example, taste tests, daily routines, recipe-style videos, and more.

Online Marketplace Activations
Drive verified product purchases through eligible online marketplaces and e-commerce channels, with optional creator content depending on the campaign.

UGC Campaigns
Generate authentic lifestyle, testimonial, product demonstration, or other brand-ready creator content without requiring creators to publish it to their own social channels.

Campaign requirements, deliverables, creator volume, timing, and content specifications can be customized based on the campaign.

TryLyst is a fully managed platform, so creator recruitment and selection are handled by our team.

We qualify creators based on campaign fit and may use requirements such as location, retailer access, product compatibility, audience, content quality, and campaign-specific pre-qualification questions.

This allows campaigns to move efficiently without requiring brands to review individual creator profiles before activation.

If your campaign has specific creator requirements, let us know before launch and we’ll incorporate them into our recruitment criteria.

TryLyst primarily works with everyday and micro creators who produce relatable content and have engaged communities.

Rather than selecting creators based solely on follower count, we focus on campaign fit, content quality, location, retailer access, audience engagement, and the creator’s ability to authentically complete the activation.

For campaigns requiring larger creators or specialized creator profiles, custom sourcing may also be available.

For retail purchase campaigns, yes.

Creators are provided with the approved product purchase amount and complete a verified purchase from the designated retailer or marketplace.

TryLyst tracks purchase completion and proof of purchase via receipt as part of the campaign.

This gives brands something traditional seeding campaigns often cannot: verified purchases and measurable product movement tied directly to creator activation.

Not necessarily.

For retail activations, creators typically purchase the product directly from the designated retailer using product funds coordinated through TryLyst.

For UGC or other campaigns where retail purchase is not required, brands may ship products directly to participating creators.

We’ll recommend the structure that makes the most sense for your campaign.

Deliverables depend on the campaign and can include Instagram Reels, lifestyle videos, product demonstrations, testimonials, lifestyle photography, and other UGC assets.

Retail campaigns can also incorporate the in-store discovery experience — such as finding the product, showing the retail environment, purchasing it, and then using or experiencing the product at home.

Your campaign proposal will clearly outline the required deliverables before launch.

Yes.

Brands can provide required talking points, product benefits, messaging guidelines, retailer requirements, visual direction, calls to action, do's and don'ts, and other campaign-specific instructions.

We translate those requirements into creator-facing campaign guidelines while preserving enough creative flexibility for the content to feel natural and authentic.

Revision availability depends on the campaign package and will be outlined before launch.

When a revision round is included, brands can request reasonable changes that bring the content into alignment with the approved campaign brief.

Revision requests should relate to the original campaign requirements rather than introduce new concepts, deliverables, or creative direction after content has been created.

When content review is included, TryLyst reviews creator submissions against the approved campaign requirements before making them available for brand review.

Brands can preview content, approve it, or request an included revision directly through the TryLyst Content Library when applicable.

This helps keep creator communication and content management in one place.

Campaign timelines vary based on retailer availability, creator volume, launch dates, geography, and required deliverables.

Creators receive defined deadlines for purchases, content creation, and posting based on the campaign requirements. For time-sensitive retail launches, TryLyst can also prioritize recruitment and content delivery around specific launch periods.

Your proposal will outline the expected campaign timeline and any agreed delivery targets before launch.

Yes.

Campaigns can include creator-posted social content, UGC delivered directly to the brand, or a combination of both.

For posted campaigns, the required platform, deliverables, posting requirements, and minimum live period will be defined in the campaign agreement.

Unless otherwise specified in the campaign agreement, creator-posted campaign content is expected to remain live for at least 90 days.

Yes. Standard TryLyst campaigns include full usage rights that allow the brand and TryLyst to reuse and repurpose approved campaign content for organic and paid marketing purposes.

Creators retain ownership of their original content.

Specific usage terms are outlined in the applicable campaign agreement.

No. Creator whitelisting is not included in standard TryLyst campaign pricing.

Whitelisting, creator handle advertising, or similar permissions may be available separately for eligible campaigns and creators and must be agreed upon in advance.

TryLyst does not require positive reviews or otherwise attempt to influence the sentiment of creator feedback.

Review requirements depend on the policies of the applicable retailer or marketplace. Some platforms restrict or prohibit incentivized reviews entirely.

Where reviews are permitted, campaigns must follow the applicable platform rules and disclosure requirements.

TryLyst structures campaigns with applicable FTC disclosure requirements and retailer or marketplace policies in mind.

Creators are required to disclose sponsored or incentivized relationships when applicable, and TryLyst does not require creators to provide positive opinions or biased feedback.

Marketplace-specific requirements may vary, so campaign structures are adjusted based on the retailer, marketplace, and requested creator activity.

TryLyst manages creator follow-ups and campaign completion on behalf of the brand.

If a creator cannot complete an assigned activation, we may recruit a replacement creator when appropriate.

Brands are not charged campaign fees for creator spots that ultimately remain unfulfilled, and unused product funds for unfulfilled activations are refunded or credited according to the campaign agreement.

Brands pre-fund the estimated product purchase pool for applicable retail campaigns.

Any unused product funds remaining after campaign reconciliation can be refunded or applied as a credit toward a future TryLyst campaign, according to the campaign agreement.

TryLyst uses campaign-based pricing.

There are no subscriptions or long-term commitments required to run a standard campaign.

Pricing depends on factors such as campaign type, creator volume, retail footprint, required deliverables, content requirements, and creator sourcing needs.

Product purchase or reimbursement funds are generally calculated separately from campaign service fees so brands can clearly see the cost of the activation.

Volume pricing may be available for larger campaigns or multi-wave activations.

Minimum creator requirements vary by campaign type.

Retail activations generally begin with a defined minimum number of creators so the campaign can generate meaningful activity across the target market.

Larger national campaigns can also be activated in waves, allowing brands to scale creator volume over time.

Contact us with your retailer, locations, and campaign goals and we’ll recommend an appropriate starting size.

No.

TryLyst is fully managed.

We handle creator recruitment, qualification, campaign communication, product purchase coordination, deliverable tracking, creator follow-ups, content management, and creator payouts.

Your team works with TryLyst rather than managing dozens of individual creator relationships.

Brands can use TryLyst to follow campaign activity and access campaign content and reporting.

The Content Library provides a centralized place to preview submitted creator content, review applicable deliverables, approve content or request an included revision, and access approved assets.

Campaign reporting can also include metrics such as creator participation, verified retail purchases, geographic locations where your product is being purchased, content performance, reach, views, engagement, audience reach, creator feedback, and other campaign-specific results.

Results depend on the retailer, product, campaign size, geography, creator mix, and campaign goals.

TryLyst campaigns are designed to generate measurable activity rather than guarantee a specific sales lift, view count, engagement rate, or other performance outcome.

Depending on the campaign, measurable outputs can include verified retail purchases, creator content, social reach and views, engagement, store-level activation, consumer feedback, and marketplace activity.

Yes.

TryLyst can support local, regional, and nationwide retail activations.

Creators can be recruited based on retailer access, state, region, or other geographic requirements, making it possible to activate campaigns around specific store lists or broader national distribution.

Larger campaigns can also be executed in waves to align with product availability, retailer expansion, or launch timing.

Earlier is better.

Advance planning gives us more time to map your retail footprint, recruit and qualify creators, confirm product availability, and coordinate the activation around your launch date.

For larger or time-sensitive retail campaigns, we recommend reaching out well before the product hits shelves whenever possible.

Book a quick call with us and tell us about your product, retailer or marketplace, target markets, launch timing, and campaign goals. Schedule a call.

We’ll recommend a campaign structure based on what you’re trying to accomplish — whether that's driving retail discovery and purchases, generating creator content, supporting a new retail launch, or combining several objectives.
